Cardiac Tamponade is a medical emergency where fluid builds up in the pericardium (the sac around the heart), putting pressure on the heart and preventing it from pumping blood properly. 🫀 The buildup may be due to: Injury or trauma Heart surgery complications Cancer or infection Pericarditis (inflammation of the pericardium) 🔍 Key Symptoms: Severe chest pain or pressure Rapid heart rate Shortness of breath Fainting or dizziness Swelling in the abdomen or legs Low blood pressure 📉 If untreated, it can lead to shock and organ failure due to inadequate blood flow. 🩺 Immediate treatment, like pericardiocentesis (draining the fluid), can be life-saving.
