Sinus Bradycardia is a condition where the heart beats slower than normal, typically under 60 beats per minute, but still maintains a regular rhythm. It originates from the sinus node, the heart’s natural pacemaker. 🫀 When Is It Normal? - Seen in athletes or during deep sleep - Can be normal in healthy individuals with high cardiovascular fitness 🔍 When It May Be a Concern: - If slow heart rate causes dizziness, fatigue, fainting, or shortness of breath - If it's related to underlying heart disease, thyroid problems, or medication side effects 📉 Common Causes: - Aging of the heart’s electrical system - Hypothyroidism (low thyroid levels) - Heart attack or damage to the sinus node - Certain medications (beta-blockers, calcium channel blockers, digoxin) - Electrolyte imbalances 🩺 Diagnosis Includes: - ECG (Electrocardiogram) – shows slow but regular rhythm - Holter monitor for 24-hr heart rhythm tracking - Blood tests for thyroid and electrolytes - Echocardiogram (to assess heart function)
