The conduction system of the heart is like an electrical wiring network that controls your heartbeat. It ensures the heart beats in a coordinated and rhythmic manner to pump blood effectively throughout the body. 🫀 Key Components: SA Node (Sinoatrial Node): The heart’s natural pacemaker; initiates the heartbeat AV Node (Atrioventricular Node): Passes signals from the atria to the ventricles Bundle of His & Purkinje Fibers: Spread the signal to the ventricles, causing them to contract 📉 If this system doesn’t work properly, it can lead to: Arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats) Bradycardia (slow heartbeat) Tachycardia (fast heartbeat) Need for pacemaker in some cases 🩺 A healthy conduction system keeps your heart in sync—literally!
