The human heart is a vital muscular organ located in the thoracic cavity, slightly left of the midline. It comprises four chambers: Right Atrium: Receives deoxygenated blood from the body. Right Ventricle: Pumps deoxygenated blood to the lungs. Left Atrium: Receives oxygenated blood from the lungs. Left Ventricle: Pumps oxygenated blood to the rest of the body. The heart also contains four main valves—tricuspid, pulmonary, mitral, and aortic—that ensure unidirectional blood flow. Understanding the heart's structure is essential for comprehending its role in circulatory health.
